The Distinguished Talent Visa (Subclass 124) was a permanent residency visa for individuals with an internationally recognised record of exceptional achievement in a profession, sport, the arts, or academia and research.

It allowed highly talented individuals to make Australia their home, contributing significantly to the community while enjoying the benefits of permanent residency.

Important Update: From 14 November 2020, the Distinguished Talent Visa (Subclass 124) closed to new applications. This change does not affect applications that were lodged before this date—those continue to be processed under the regulations in effect at the time.
Applicants who wish to access the Distinguished Talent program can now apply for the Distinguished Talent Visa (Subclass 858).
